Christine and I had a lovely walk round part of Exeter yesterday, learning a lot more about my city. Sadly the man doing the tour was not very dynamic ... but at least he did learn quite a few new things. Christine and I had a great trip to Coleton Fshacre last week. We have both been a few times, but this time there was the added advantage of Royal Geographical Society: Earth Photo 2024 display in the grounds. We were also so lucky with the weather ... so all in all a lovely day out.

Well yesterday was pretty good .... I walked into Exeter first thing to meet up with Christine and then we went on one of the many guided city walks ... and ended up seeing a few things I didn't even know existed, a couple being on the actual high street (photos to follow ( Read more... )

When Brenda arranged to visit I had hoped she could stay another day, but it was not to be.  As Claire had swapped things around so that we could all go out, we kept thhe trip anyway.

We went to Agatha Christie's home Greenway in Torquay. The house was Georgian (my favourite type of property), although the original house was built in Tudor times. ( Read more... )

As I said Arlington Court has the carriage museum ... and between the stables, where it is housed, and the house is the Parish Church (the original house was local to the Church)

I don't know why I posted these in reverse order ... I am sure it can't be a sign of impending old age, can it?

The first day Brenda & I went out was to Arlington Court in North Devon. It was owned by the Chichester family before it was given to The National Trust, and now houses the Carriage Collection in the stables.
